About The KaReport

Three newsletters (called The KaReport) are included within knowledge and communications part of the KaR programme. The first spring edition of The KaReport was published in spring 2004, the second edition in summer 2004 and the third is due for publishing in summer 2005.

The KaReport provides a forum for the sharing of learning from all aspects of the programme, including the policy project, competition projects, thematic research, electronic and face-to-face communications, and resources.

The first issue took a look at the lessons learned from the programme's first phase Disability and Healthcare Technology, which ran from 2000 to 2003, and the pronounced link between disability and poverty. Other articles included reports of relevant studies, recent disability-related conferences and workshops, and a list of resources.

The second issue explored mainstreaming disablity in development, and looked at the key issues, current practice and recent initiatives. It also gave updates on programme developments and activities.
