(Background Paper No. 4, 2001). It reviews what is known about the incidence,
distribution and trends of disability in the developing world, and how
these relate to chronic poverty. It presents two case studies (in Uganda
and India) where action is being taken to mitigate or reduce chronic poverty
among disabled people.
