Six projects were funded under the Disability Knowledge and Research Programme in 2003. The projects focus on sustainable new technologies that combat the detrimental effects of disability on the lives of poor people in developing countries.

One key aim of the Programme is to ensure that new knowledge generated by the six projects is communicated to other people working in similar areas.
