emerged as a strategy of feminist advocacy in the context of development,
and draws comparisons with the history of the disability movement. The
paper explores recent recommendations that have been made for mainstreaming
disability, with specific empahsis on DFID, and compares these with what
is currently seen to be 'good practice' in gender mainstreaming.
